Rule 1A - One calendar year of Sim Football costs $70, which is payable prior to the beginning of each
season. The winner of the Sim Cup in each league plays the next season in that league for free, and receives
a trophy. Owners who have more than one club receive a $10 discount for each paid club after the first. So if you own two teams - which cannot be in the same league - the cost for one year would be $70 + $70 - $10 = $130. Please note that a cup-winning team playing the season for free does not qualify as an additional paid team for discount purposes. When your club is first activated, you will need to give it a name and also nominate your home ground. You can name your club anything within the bounds of reasonable taste. A club name cannot exceed 18 characters, including spaces. Club names beginning with "The" are not permitted. You could name your club after an AFL team or mascot, or you may wish to refer to your home town - "Bendigo Beasts" for example. Or you could just let your imagination go wild and come up with something quite weird. The same rules apply for the name of your home ground, although your ground can start with "The." Rule 1B - Sim Football reserves the right to reject a proposed name and ask for a suitable alternative. Now you've got a club name and base, you need members to provide you with an income and money to start building your squad. You have a wealthy sponsor and your marketing people have worked hard to provide you with a supporter base. Rule 1C - A Startup club begins with 10,000 members and $3,000,000 in the bank.
Money and Members are words that club administrators go all gooey about. As you get more aquainted with Sim, you will
realise how vital these 2 "M" words are. There are only two things that can affect your membership - whether you win or lose, and
marketing. But your membership is only one of many factors than can affect your bank balance. Buys, delists, loans,
repayments, wages, contracts and coach are all financial factors. Don't worry about all the strange terms and phrases you see
in this section and the next, they will all be explained in due course.
