Lappin, Bell share honours

Wednesday 5th November 2003 - At a glittering ceremony last night in The Grotto on Planet 666, Nigel Lappin was awarded the GA Young Trophy for Best & Fairest, and shared the Lockett Medal for Leading Goalkicker with Peter Bell. It was Lappa's second Young/Lockett double, following his dual success in 1997, and equalled the feats of Club Legend Libba who achieved the double in 1994 & 1995, and 'Tinker' Bell in 1998 & 2002.
The celebrations were riotous and very liquid as Lappa was elevated to Legend-In-Waiting status, meaning upon retirement he will automatically assume Legend status, an exalted height currently occupied solely by Libba. Lappa qualified to join Bell as a Legend-In-Waiting by claiming his fifth club award, having won the 1996 Young in addition to his 1997 double. Bell's share of the Lockett was his seventh club award, surpassing the six won by Libba.
The night ended with a Vulcan Gnojo Ceremony, where Lappin had many large, steaming quinces balanced on his forehead while his team mates screamed blessings to ward off the hideous, evil, drooling demon Cooda.

Aliens Pulverise Bushrangers in Shield Final

Monday 1st September 2003 - Aliens equalled an all-time Sim Football record as they crushed Bushrangers in the Shield Grand Final yesterday. In a day of records and 'firsts' for the club:
- Aliens' 35 Player Goals equalled the all-time Sim Record, joining Tigers who achieved the feat in 2001.
- The score of 35.21.231 was the highest ever kicked in a grand final, cup or shield.
- The winning margin of 140 points was the greatest ever in a grand final, cup or shield. It was also Aliens'
  biggest against Bushrangers.
- The Trophy Cabinet was finally unlocked to display the first piece of silverware won by the club.
- Owner Jon Hall became the first owner to win two grand finals in one year, having also been successful with
Filthy Animals in the L2 shield final.
Match day Coach Grant Thomas was philosophical about the win.
"Look, yeah, no. We know where we're going, we're focussed, we think we've got the mix right, the group has collectively held up its hand, we put our noses to the grindstone, our shoulders to the wheel, greased our elbows, and the rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain."

Aliens History

Aliens Football Club was established in 1993 and played its first game in League 1 in Round 10 of that year, taking over the wreckage of the defunct Amo's Allstars.

The club immediately began a long and difficult re-building phase which continued for the next 9 years. During this time the club achieved little success, never finishing higher than 7th on the ladder, and collecting 2 Sim Spoons on the way. Many analysts considered Aliens a lost cause, and predicted it was only a matter of time before they would disappear into a black hole forever.

However, as the 2001 season approached, the club was confident that the careful recruiting policy of the previous 3 years would finally reap dividends. A maiden Cup campaign, including the club's first Cup Finals win and a memorable draw with the eventual premier, was the result. Now, with a handy mixture of established stars such as Darcy, Bell, Lappin, Pavlich, Grant and Hayes, an impressive cast of young guns including Dal Santo, Ball, Koschitzke & Cupido, the experience of the 2001 & 2002 Cup finals campaigns, and the confidence gained from the crushing 2003 Shield victory, the club is intent on taking the next giant leap forward in 2004...

Aliens Greatest News

Round 10, season 2001 is now indelibly etched into the history of Aliens Football Club. This
was the day the rest of the owners were forced to stop in their tracks and pay due respect. This was

The Day of the Aliens

Led by the brilliant combination of Darcy and Francou, Aliens held sway all day to snap the 16-game winning streak of reigning premier Tigers, and in doing so, win a third straight game for the first time since 1997. The soft underbelly of the Tigers corridor was torn open by the relentless Bell and Lappin, while Johnson and Ward feasted on the entrails out wide. The hideous mutilation also featured the surgical precision of James "Froggy" Clement and the downright butchery of Justin "Filthy Animal" Longmuir. And to Help the Haemorrhaging, the H factor - Hamill, Hay and Hulme - tore tissue asunder with reckless abandon. By the end of the day the feline corpse lay rotting, stinking and steaming, in the middle of its own putrid litter box. Nine years of gestating frustation had finally reached critical mass in the chest cavity of the Aliens, and with inhuman ferocity it had burst loose and wreaked havoc. And the heavens rumbled. And the people were afraid. Very afraid. Now it was released, nothing could stand in its way....

On Planet 666, no one can hear you scream

Well you fly around the cosmos, but on planet Earth you find
A game that really turns you on, can make you meld your mind
We all like football, but from a lot of teams around
Only one is inter-galactic, to Aliens we're bound...

Up there you creatures, red black and white
Smash in their faces, give them a bite
Up there you creatures, you're all Alien
Rip gouge dismember, then do it again

Now there's a lot more things to Aliens, than flying through the sky
There are tentacles and pointy ears, there are heads with just one eye
And because we're sadistic, we're vicious to the core
When they're down and out, when we've kicked their arse, (the) losers lick the floor...

Up there you creatures, red black and white
Smash in their faces, give them a bite
Up there you creatures, you're all Alien
Rip gouge dismember, then do it again

Up there you creatures, you're all Alien
Rip gouge dismember, then do it again
Up there you creatures, a team unified
We're coming to get you, there's no where to hide

Up there you creatures, red black and white
Smash in their faces, give them a bite
Up there you creatures, a team unified
We're coming to get you, there's no where to hide
There's no where to hiiiiiiiiide!
